You may remember a few months ago our church hosted a concert by singer/songwriter Eric Peters. While he was in town, we hung out, ate some Mexican food, checked out some used bookstores, and had a good time. (We almost went golfing, but every course in Jasper closes on Mondays, so that didn’t happen.)
Eric’s a good guy who supports his family (wife and two boys) by making music. It’s not glamorous, he’s not a huge star- he’s just a really talented musician who’s been lucky enough (so far) to make a living doing what he loves.
Earlier this summer, he started a lawn care business in Nashville to help pay the bills. When he wasn’t playing shows in coffee shops, living rooms, or youth group Bible studies, he’d mow lawns to make some extra money. Again, not glamorous, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right? Then last week, he tweeted this:
I sent him a message- something like, “That sucks- need help?” And since he’s not proud, he said, “Sure! What can you do?”
So this is what I’m doing.
I’m gonna send him a little bit of money to help replace his equipment, and I’m blogging about it in hopes that maybe you’d be willing to help, too.
So, if you’d be willing to send Eric a few dollars to help replace his equipment, leave a comment and I’ll get you his address so you can send him a check. Also, please share the link to this blog post so that people who don’t normally read BDB might see this and jump on board.
Update: If you have a PayPal account, you can contribute there. Click the link to “Send Money” and enter firstname.lastname@example.org as the receiving email address.
